Scott Wiley '98 writes, "I am now a Private Client Advisor at City National Bank."
For two years in a row, Tara S. Kaushik '98, J.D. '03 has been included in the Best Lawyers in America guide, Utilities Law. She is a partner in Holland & Knight's San Francisco office and a member of the firm's West Coast Land Use and Environment Group. Ms. Kaushik focuses her practice on regulatory matters, with a specific emphasis on energy, natural resources and the environment. She has represented energy companies, local governments, Alaska Native Corporations and tribal entities in project developments, including the negotiations of power purchase agreements and project financing.
Ms. Kaushik has advised and represented her clients on numerous issues before state public utilities commissions throughout the western United States and before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). She also handles carbon credits transactions and cap-and-trade issues before the California Air Resources Board, and regularly advises energy companies and tribal organizations on litigation and arbitration involving energy and commercial disputes.
Kyle Daniels '98 recently joined Teles Properties in Residential Real Estate Sales in the Manhattan Beach office after a 22 year career with the LA County Fire Department Lifeguard Division and retiring as on Ocean Lifeguard Captain. He currently resides in Palos Verdes Estates with his wife, Colleen, and two children, Riley (5) and Isla (2).
Ryan Jones J.D. '99 is an associate at the Long Beach office of Singer & Benjumea. Since graduating, he has solely practiced in the field of workers’ compensation law. Mr. Jones has also represented employers in 132a matters and serious and willful claims.
Abby (Fake) Hammel '99 and Mike Hammel '99 welcomed son Luke James on January 16, 2016. Big sisters Ainsley and Kiley were thrilled to add a brother to the family.
Tina R. Griffin J.D. '99 was appointed as the Supervising Deputy City Attorney for the Litigation Unit in October 2013. She has served the Fresno City Attorney’s Office since 2006, specializing in employment litigation, personnel, and labor relations. Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office, Ms. Griffin practiced law in the private sector handling employment discrimination/civil rights litigation, employment defense litigation, and insurance defense litigation for local (William J. Smith & Associates and Cooper & Hoppe), statewide (Lozano Smith), and national (Littler Mendelson) law firms. Ms. Griffin enjoys reading and traveling. She and her husband keep quite busy with their very active young children: twins (boy and girl) and daughter.

Rory Byrne MBA ’00 has joined the executive team of Billtrust, a leader in payment cycle management, to help meet growing business demands and expansion into new markets. Rory, who will assume the role of executive vice president of Business Development, will oversee corporate partnerships and channel sales, as well as mergers and acquisition strategies. He brings expertise from a variety of leadership roles, including his positions as Senior VP of OEM & Partner Strategy at Kofax, and VP of Business Development at Kapow, a robotic process automation provider, where he was responsible for partner growth through channels and alliances, leading to a successful acquisition by Kofax in 2013. Prior to Kapow, Rory held roles as Director of Corporate Development at Yahoo! Inc., and Director of Interchange Pricing Strategy at Visa.
Ricardo Benavidez '00 was named to the Silicon Valey Business Journal's 40 under 40 list for 2016.
As Cisco’s government and community relations manager, Benavidez granted $16 million-plus in cash and millions more in product donations to Bay Area nonprofits. Now as a program manager with Google, he helps design and build workplaces that inspire and energize employees. He serves on the board of the San Jose-based Shortino Foundation, and at Year Up, he mentors at-risk/under-served students.
Bianca Placencia '01 married Christian Wilczoch on Septemner 17, 2016 in Carmel, California. In attendance were the immediate families of the bride and groom, including Jose Placencia MBA '79 and friends Julia (Debriyn) Tabery '01, Tara (Cano) Skipper '01, and Jamie (Ceccato) Perkins '01. The couple lives in Santa Clara, where Christian works as an engineer and Bianca as the director of operations.
Rob Lathrop '94, M.S. '01 is the new president of Lathrop Engineering, a Paramit company, that designs and develops medical device and life science instrumentation. As the former VP of engineering at Lathrop, Rob brings more than 20 years of experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, project management, and designing and developing complex scientific instrumentation. He has been instrumental in expanding the company's client base, and his optimization of the product development process now enables Lathrop to complete even the most complex projects on timelines no one else can match. Rob's leadership of design and engineering teams through many successful projects over the years has built strong working relationships with clients, as well as their continued repeat business.
Francisca "Kika" Jonsson '01 married Brian Yeung on September 15, 2016, at the New York City Marriage Bureau in Manhattan. The immediate families of the bride and groom were in attendance, including Erik Jonsson '01, his wife Yulia Protasova Jonsson, and their 8-month-old son Jakob; and Alicia Foster '03 and Chris Foster '03 and their two children Eve (5) and Jason (3). Kika is a fine artist in Berlin and Brian works as a director of Service Experience at Blacklane, a transportation startup. The couple lives in Berlin, Germany.
Chris Muldoon '02 is currently working as a Physician Assistant at Amundsen-Scott Station, South Pole, Antarctica, providing medical care (and evacuations as necessary) and facilitating a NASA project that is a very small part of the program aimed at putting man on Mars. He recently finished a winter at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. He is also a member of a global disaster response team and has been a member of all-volunteer mountain rescue teams in the Pacific Northwest for about the last ten years.
Renee (Osborne) Benedict '02 writes, "My daughter, Sophia Marie, was born in July 2015. I am really enjoying her. It's the first grandchild for Connie Osborne '75."
Rhianna Henry Casesa '03 received her Ph.D. in Education from the joint doctoral program between San Diego State University and Claremont Graduate University in August 2015. She is currently a tenure-track assistant professor at Sonoma State University. Her research interests include dual-language education, literacy, and biliteracy. She is currently living in Sonoma County with her husband, Marco, and their 4-year-old daughter, Giovanna.
Sarah Snyder '04 is the team dietitian for the Detroit Lions football team. She worked as a sports dietitian for the University of Florida and the University of Michigan athletic departments prior to joining the lions.
Veronika Olah '04, Lauren Lopez '11, and Angelica Salinas '13 made an uncanny discovery that they make up three of only about a hundred Disney Adventure Guides in the world. Along with local experts, the guides ensure that travelers feel a connection to the people, culture, and traditions of each destination visited. Bringing Bronco spirit to their competitive positions as tour guides with talents for storytelling, Angelica guides in Wyoming, Lauren in Hollywood and San Francisco, and Veronika on the Danube River Cruise.
Stacy (Hartman) Greenwood '04 and her husband Sean welcomed Grant Joseph on July 7, 2016. He joins big brothers Landon (5) and Cohen (2). The Greenwoods reside in San Jose, California.
Jennifer Ferrari '04 started in her new role as the associate directorfor Santa Clara University's Career Center, providing leadership and strategic planning support. Jennifer has more than 10 years of experience in higher education. Santa Clara is a big part of Jennifer’s history, as she has worked on campus since 2005, previously serving as the business manager in Auxiliary Services before taking on her former assistant director role in the Career Center. Her work is inspired by her own Santa Clara experience and she loves helping SCU students explore the intersection between their passions, talents, and the needs of the world to discover meaningful opportunities. Jennifer has a BS degree in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Italian and an MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Career Development from Santa Clara University.
