Longtime 49er and standout Bronco is now a hall-of-famer

“It is truly the greatest honor of my life,” says Brent Jones ’85 about his induction in the San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame.

By the time he graduated, Brent Jones ’85 led the Santa Clara Broncos to two Western Football Conference Championships. After going pro with the San Francisco 49ers, he helped the team win three Super Bowls over the course of 11 seasons.

Now, Jones is the 33rd inductee into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. 49ers Hall of Fame, cementing his place among the franchise’s all-time greats.

At SCU, Jones was a standout tight-end. He ranks second in school history with 137 receptions, fourth in receiving yards and scoring with 200 points, and third in touchdown receptions with 24. He also earned First-Team All-Western Conference honors three times and was named the 1985 Western Football Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
