SCM Staff 01 Feb 2015 Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Haley ’81 joined SCU’s Board of Trustees in October 2014. Co-founder and managing director of Menlo Park–based Redpoint Ventures, Haley focuses on investments in software, consumer Internet, and digital media companies. He studied philosophy at SCU and points out that there’s no “best” path for training in the VC business—but looking for good people and leveraging a broad network of entrepreneurs are key. Among his successful investments are companies acquired by Yahoo, Oracle, and Intuit. He is also on the advisory board of SCU’s Center for Science, Technology, and Society.
