Bronco sports teams rank among nation’s elite SCM Staff 05 Jan 2005 The SCU men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball teams continue to compete among the nation’s elite. The Bronco women, coming off their national semifinal appearance a year ago, entered the season ranked as high as fourth nationally and defeated top-ranked and defending national champion Notre Dame 2-1 on Sept. 9 at Buck Shaw Stadium. The men’s squad also rose to a number four ranking early in the year after knocking-off then second-ranked UCLA 3-2 in Fullerton, Calif. The SCU volleyball team ranked 17th in the national polls after defeating nationally ranked Arizona and U.C. Santa Barbara to win the Bronco Invitational in the Leavey Center.
