Caryn Beck-Dudley takes the wheel as dean of Leavey School of Business.
News from Lucas Hall: Coming on board in August as dean of the Leavey School of Business is Caryn Beck-Dudley. She arrives from Florida State University, where she has been serving as dean of the business school. A scholar in employment law and the design of ethical organizations, she has also taught in the business schools at Utah State University, the University of Georgia, and the University of Michigan. At SCU she’ll take the wheel from S. Andrew Starbird MBA ’84, who has been dean for six years and will return to the faculty as professor of operations and management systems after a one-year sabbatical. For those keeping score, the business school is home to seven undergrad majors, two M.S. degree programs, and MBAs that include five different concentrations—as well as evening and weekend executive MBA programs. Starbird also helped launch SCU’s California Program for Entrepreneurship, which has facilitated cretion of scores of businesses.
