It only took 11 matches playing with the Broncos for Mana Hayashi ’28 to get noticed.

Barely halfway through her freshman year, Mana Hayashi ’28 was swooped up by the big leagues.

In January, Hayashi joined the long list of Santa Clara women soccer players to go pro, signing a contract with the Chicago Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League.

The midfielder hailing from Japan made a big impact in her lone season with the Broncos, and was named the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year. Before her stint at SCU, Hayashi played with the Japanese National Team in the U20 World Cup.
