In 2025, Santa Clara found a new way to honor alumni—the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. It recognizes alumni contributions to communities, professions, and the University.
This year’s recipient, Josue De Paz ’15, has already had a career defined by service and leadership. De Paz is the CEO and co-founder of First Tech Fund, a nonprofit helping low-income students in New York City gain access to technology, mentorship, and college readiness support. The group offers laptops, hotspots, career workshops, and a network of mentors who guide students through their educational and professional journeys. He has been recognized by Hispanic Executive magazine’s 30 Under 30 and received the 2023 Nonprofit Power Players award.
The alumni association also honors Bryan Neider ’78, the CEO of AbilityPath, who has doubled the organization’s impact with the Ignatian Award. Catherine Horan-Walker ’69 receives the Louis I. Bannan, S.J. Award for her volunteer work and service to the Alumni Association and Board of Regents. This year, the Paul L. Locatelli, S.J. Award recognizes Rich Haughey ’72 and Ginny Haughey ’73 for their leadership on the Board of Trustees and support of local charities.
