Innovative academic leader, scholar of electoral politics James Glaser to serve as Santa Clara’s new provost.

Following a national search, Santa Clara University has a new executive vice president and provost.

James M. Glaser is a noted scholar of electoral politics and American political behavior. He is currently dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University in Massachusetts.

At Santa Clara, Glaser will oversee a broad portfolio, including all the schools, two centers of distinction, libraries, student life and wellness, and more.

“In Jim, we have found a values-based, servant leader who possesses a remarkable academic acumen and a profound commitment to fostering a community rooted in compassion and intellectual rigor,” says SCU President Julie Sullivan.

Glaser will begin his term at SCU in July.
