SCU graduates are in the top 1 percent of average salaries post-graduation.

It’s more or less a rule of life that college graduates struggle— financially, speaking—when they leave school. High rents and typically low starter salaries do not mix well. But it seems graduates of Santa Clara University need not worry.

SCU has again ranked in the top 1 percent of undergraduate alumni nationwide for average salaries in their early and mid-careers. According to the compensation data company Payscale, Santa Clara alumni ranked No. 9 overall.

The median earnings for SCU alumni within their first five years post-graduation was $87,300. For those with a decade or more of professional experience, the median salary was $173,100.

Santa Clara was among just three California colleges to appear in the top 10 nationally.
