California voters sent two Santa Clara alumni back to the halls of Congress

Voters in the November 2023 elections returned two Broncos to the halls of Congress. Incumbent representatives Jimmy Panetta J.D ’96, who mostly represents Monterey County, and Zoe Lofgren J.D. ’75, whose district is in Santa Clara County, were both re-elected with more than 60 percent of the vote.

Redistricting shifted Panetta’s district both north and south, now stretching down to San Luis Obispo County and into San Jose.

As for Lofgren, her experience has landed her leading roles on the powerful House Judiciary Committee, where she’ll head a subcommittee on immigration.
