Filter comes to Santa Clara as head coach with five NCAA tournament appearances under his belt.He coached under Jim Dietz and Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn at San Diego State and Mark Marquess, the fourth-winningest coach in NCAA history, at Stanford. Filter has made his biggest impact developing pitchers, mentoring two pitchers who went on to be selected No. 1 overall in the MLB Draft.
