Keep Connected

Alumni Relations is offering new ways to maintain old connections in the SCU family—and make new ones.

Like many recent grads, Natalie Rollo ’16 was on the move and in need of work. After searching job sites in Southern Cal, Rollo logged onto Santa Clara’s new Switchboard website and asked Broncos for help. Within two days, Rollo heard from Jenny Sullivan ’07, Los Angeles alumni chapter manager.

That weekend, she met Sullivan and other alums at Beyond Innovation: Los Angeles—a special SCU event showcasing big things happening on campus. Suddenly, Rollo had a growing professional network in her new city. Switchboard isn’t just for job hunting, it’s a place where Broncos ask for what they need and offer what they have—whether it’s an extra ticket to a show or a couch to sleep on during a long road trip. SERVICE!

On April 29, the SCU Alumni Association, along with the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education and the SCU Staff Senate, will host a Community Day of Service focused on the Thriving Neighbors Initiative, which actively promotes strategic ties between SCU and the Greater Washington Community of San Jose. Sort food at Sacred Heart Community Services, garden with BUG, read to children at Washington school, or work on beautification projects at the Alma Center. Questions? Email Mary Modeste Smoker ’81 at msmoker@scu.edu.

Keep Growing

What was the one class you wanted to take but never fit into your schedule? It’s not too late. The University and Alumni Association offers a class audit program for graduates. You can audit one (non-credit) undergraduate course per. Classes require professor approval, so move quickly!

DON’T MISS OUT

The only way to keep up with alumni news, engagement and networking opportunities, and upcoming programs is to keep your address info up to date. It’s easy: scu.edu/addressupdate
