Leapin’ Leopards

A tiger cub born at New Jersey’s Six Flags Great Adventure has a Santa Clara namesake—Julie Ertz ’14!

There’s something familiar about the newest Siberian tiger cub at Six Flags Great Adventure. If only we could put our foot on what that thing is!

The cub at the Jackson, New Jersey, theme park has a name that rings a bell—Julie. The tiger is named after Julie Ertz ’14 of the Chicago Redstars. It joins a few siblings who are also named for the human Julie’s teammates on the Women’s National Soccer Team with regional ties, Carli Lloyd and Heather Mitts Feeley. No word yet on how tiger Julie feels about headbands. We’re in favor.
