Engineering Change Welcoming Jon C. Strauss as interim dean of the School of Engineering SCM Staff 14 Sep 2018 As SCU pushes forward in STEM education and gears up for construction of the Sobrato Campus for Discovery and Innovation, Jon C. Strauss has stepped in as interim dean of the School of Engineering. From IBM to Carnegie Mellon University to the National Science Board, Strauss has leadership experience in education and the private and public sectors—including as presidents of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Harvey Mudd College. Strauss takes the helm from Alfonso Ortega, who returned to Villanova University for personal and professional reasons. The University has begun a national search for a permanent dean.
