On Nov. 9, 2017, Danielle Slaton ’02 will be inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame. As captain of the 2001 women’s soccer national championship team, a 2000 Olympics silver medalist, and a 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup bronze winner, Slaton has spent her career helping lead teams to success on and off the field. She is Santa Clara’s Coaching for Life Academy director and works as a soccer analyst for NBC, Fox Sports, and the Pac-12 Networks.

Part of the leadership team for wealth management firm B|O|S, Waxman has helped shape the vision for a company considered a top RIA and financial advisor by Forbes and Financial Times. He also serves on the board for nonprofits Headlands Center for the Arts and Stern Grove Festival Association. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, drawing, and pillow fighting with his two children—and walking his dog, Mr. Wilson. Stroll down memory lane long enough, and you’ll learn he was once an accomplished classical pianist.

James Goodnow ’03 co-authored Motivating Millennials, which hit No.1 in three categories on Amazon, including business management. Goodnow is an attorney, Above the Law columnist, and Forbes contributor. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School as well as SCU, where he majored in political science. Goodnow regularly provides legal and political analysis for national broadcast and print media, including CNN, CNBC and the Washington Post. The couple resides in New York City but consider themselves “bi-coastal” as they regularly travel back to the West Coast (best coast!) to visit family and friends.

James Servino ’07 moved from Washington, D.C. to the U.S. Territory of Guam after nearly a decade working for LGBT equality as an associate director at the Human Rights Campaign. He serves as chief of staff in the Guam legislature for Senator Régine Biscoe Lee. Guam is also home to Speaker B.J. Cruz J.D. ’75 and Attorney General Elizabeth Barrett-Anderson J.D. ’79.
