Mason, Jill

Jill Mason '99 has published Couldn't Happen to Me: A Life Changed by Paralysis and Traumatic Brain Injury. It chronicles Jill's personal story over the past five years. Jill Mason and Alan Liu were hit by a drunk driver while training for a triathlon on their bicycles in Santa Rosa the morning of Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004. Alan was killed and is lovingly remembered by family and friends. ill, now paralyzed with a traumatic brain injury, is charged with communicating the consequenses of driving while impaired to schools all over Northern California. The book is available through Amazon, and Jill is available for making presentations to schools.

Lucero, Richard

Richard Lucero J.D. ’99 was appointed Fremont's chief of police.

Lucero, a 26-year veteran of Fremont police, has spent his entire law enforcement career in Fremont, where he has worked with several units, including SWAT, narcotics, street crimes and internal affairs.

He has served as commander of Fremont police's two major departments: the Patrol Division and the Special Operations and Investigations Division.

Lucero is a graduate of San Jose State University and Santa Clara University School of Law, and is a member of the State Bar of California. He is a volunteer with Officers Give Hope, a nonprofit organization that encourages officers to join the National Marrow Donor Registry. He also is first vice president of the California Peace Officers' Association.

Ryan Lowry ’99 and wife Melissa had their first child, a daughter, Samantha Marie, on October 8, 2010. She weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 19 inches long. The family resides in San Francisco. Ryan's father, Bob Lowry M.A. '79, supervises student teachers in SCU's education department; and his mother, Fran, is on the Catala Club board and assists with liturgies and serves as a greeter at the Mission Church. Bob and Fran are also proud holders of season tickets to SCU men's basketball and members of the Bronco Bench Foundation.

Alegria was the 22nd highest grossing worldwide touring act in 2011, and is the 10th highest grossing worldwide touring act so far in 2012. When not on tour, he lives with his wife and two boys in Hudson, Ohio.

Hilary Hendershott Financial's Hilary Hendershott is a Silicon Valley Business Journal 40 Under 40 winner.

Hilary Hendershott ’99, MBA ’11 appeared in the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 2014 40 Under 40 list. She is the founder and CEO of Hilary Hendershott Financial, one of Silicon Valley's only woman-owned and operated investment advisory firms. She has made it her mission to empower women to maximize their own resources, grow their wealth and live sustainable and healthy lives. She has created a financial training program, Your Rich Retirement Academy, which is delivered virtually and designed for Millennial and younger investors, and teaches both healthy money mindsets and technical skills such as calculation of net worth and retirement savings goals, to enable long-range financial success.

Hendershott volunteers at the Financial Planning Association's Pro Bono Day, where professionals offer financial advice to individuals who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford those services. She also co-created and spearheaded an annual fundraising event for the Emergency Housing Consortium's youth shelter
The San Jose native has also volunteered as a leadership skills coach for Landmark Worldwide for more than six years. In this volunteer role, Hendershott provides coaching and guidance for individuals looking to improve their communication, effectiveness and leadership skills. She has been responsible for programs of up to 80 individual participants and 15 trained coaches and estimates that she has likely spent over 1000 hours in these volunteer efforts.
She has also been a foster mother.

She has served the Fresno City Attorney’s Office since 2006, specializing in employment litigation, personnel, and labor relations. Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office, Ms. Griffin practiced law in the private sector handling employment discrimination/civil rights litigation, employment defense litigation, and insurance defense litigation for local (William J. Smith & Associates and Cooper & Hoppe), statewide (Lozano Smith), and national (Littler Mendelson) law firms. Ms. Griffin enjoys reading and traveling. She and her husband keep quite busy with their very active young children: twins (boy and girl) and daughter.
