Ryan Jones J.D. '99 is an associate at the Long Beach office of Singer & Benjumea. Since graduating, he has solely practiced in the field of workers’ compensation law. Mr. Jones has also represented employers in 132a matters and serious and willful claims.
Abby (Fake) Hammel '99 and Mike Hammel '99 welcomed son Luke James on January 16, 2016. Big sisters Ainsley and Kiley were thrilled to add a brother to the family.
Tina R. Griffin J.D. '99 was appointed as the Supervising Deputy City Attorney for the Litigation Unit in October 2013. She has served the Fresno City Attorney’s Office since 2006, specializing in employment litigation, personnel, and labor relations. Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office, Ms. Griffin practiced law in the private sector handling employment discrimination/civil rights litigation, employment defense litigation, and insurance defense litigation for local (William J. Smith & Associates and Cooper & Hoppe), statewide (Lozano Smith), and national (Littler Mendelson) law firms. Ms. Griffin enjoys reading and traveling. She and her husband keep quite busy with their very active young children: twins (boy and girl) and daughter.
Brent Gonzalez '99 married Jaime Melissa on May 1, 2016 at Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles. The wedding party included fellow alumni David Dwyer '99 and Jack Murakami '99 along with guests Brian Donahue '00, Anny (Madden) Tedeschi '97, Linda (Hoffman) Leipper '91 and Gerry Houlihan '87.
Kim Felt MBA '99 has been inducted into the National Association of Professional Women's VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. NAPW is the nation's leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters. As strategic marketing/business intelligence manager for ManageUP PRM, Kim Felt brings more than 10 years of experience in product marketing and new business creation. She is a strong advocate of customer intimacy and has often been consulted to work across product lines to identify opportunities that increase the wallet share of high-value customers. Ms. Felt thrives on evaluating information from key opinion leaders, performing competitive intelligence and identifying and building relationships with third party partners and acquisition candidates. She excels in market research, product marketing and project management. Her skills include product lifecycle management in regulatory markets, portfolio management, market analysis and needs assessments. She is also adept in negotiation of licenses, partnerships and collaboration.

Dori Rose Inda J.D. '00 is CEO of Salud Para la Gente, a network of four clinics providing low-cost, high-quality healthcare in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties for almost 40 years. Rose Inda has long been committed to making sure people of all walks of life can get excellent healthcare. She has worked as a social worker with homeless men and women and with foster families. After becoming an attorney, she founded the Watsonville Law Center and developed the Agricultural Workers Access to Health Care Project. Rose Inda was also a 2012 recipient of SCU's Ignation Award.
Jessica Perry ’97, J.D. ’00 was selected to be on the list of 2016 Women of Influence by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. These are women “who are changing Silicon Valley’s landscape in business, nonprofits, healthcare and professional services. Perry, a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in Menlo Park, CA, represented venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in a high-profile trial last year defeating gender discrimination claims brought by former partner Ellen Pao.
Sheila Hatch MBA '00 was selected to be on the list of 2016 Women of Influence by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. These are women “who are changing Silicon Valley’s landscape in business, nonprofits, healthcare and professional services.” Her best advice for others: Be open to input.
Gustavo Guerrero '00 started Ben's Roofing, Inc., based in his hometown of Oakland, Calif., in November 2012. He is married to his soul mate and best friend, Rosario. He writes, "We created two amazingly funny children, Natalia who is 9, and Benjamin II who is 6. My children are the inspiration in my life and along with my wife, they are my biggest supporters. My life is complete!"
Katie DeLeuw '00 works at EnviroIssues, an agency dedicated to developing and executing comprehensive public involvement, strategic communications, and outreach plans and programs by tackling some of the thorniest public policy and environmental issues of our day. Katie has 11 years of public involvement experience in Washington and California. Katie’s multidisciplinary education in environmental science, policy and management gives her the ability to understand complex environmental issues and communicate them to a variety of audiences. Katie is originally from Mountain View, California.
Rory Byrne MBA ’00 has joined the executive team of Billtrust, a leader in payment cycle management, to help meet growing business demands and expansion into new markets. Rory, who will assume the role of executive vice president of Business Development, will oversee corporate partnerships and channel sales, as well as mergers and acquisition strategies. He brings expertise from a variety of leadership roles, including his positions as Senior VP of OEM & Partner Strategy at Kofax, and VP of Business Development at Kapow, a robotic process automation provider, where he was responsible for partner growth through channels and alliances, leading to a successful acquisition by Kofax in 2013. Prior to Kapow, Rory held roles as Director of Corporate Development at Yahoo! Inc., and Director of Interchange Pricing Strategy at Visa.
Ricardo Benavidez '00 was named to the Silicon Valey Business Journal's 40 under 40 list for 2016.
As Cisco’s government and community relations manager, Benavidez granted $16 million-plus in cash and millions more in product donations to Bay Area nonprofits. Now as a program manager with Google, he helps design and build workplaces that inspire and energize employees. He serves on the board of the San Jose-based Shortino Foundation, and at Year Up, he mentors at-risk/under-served students.
Bianca Placencia '01 married Christian Wilczoch on Septemner 17, 2016 in Carmel, California. In attendance were the immediate families of the bride and groom, including Jose Placencia MBA '79 and friends Julia (Debriyn) Tabery '01, Tara (Cano) Skipper '01, and Jamie (Ceccato) Perkins '01. The couple lives in Santa Clara, where Christian works as an engineer and Bianca as the director of operations.
Rob Lathrop '94, M.S. '01 is the new president of Lathrop Engineering, a Paramit company, that designs and develops medical device and life science instrumentation. As the former VP of engineering at Lathrop, Rob brings more than 20 years of experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, project management, and designing and developing complex scientific instrumentation. He has been instrumental in expanding the company's client base, and his optimization of the product development process now enables Lathrop to complete even the most complex projects on timelines no one else can match. Rob's leadership of design and engineering teams through many successful projects over the years has built strong working relationships with clients, as well as their continued repeat business.
Francisca "Kika" Jonsson '01 married Brian Yeung on September 15, 2016, at the New York City Marriage Bureau in Manhattan. The immediate families of the bride and groom were in attendance, including Erik Jonsson '01, his wife Yulia Protasova Jonsson, and their 8-month-old son Jakob; and Alicia Foster '03 and Chris Foster '03 and their two children Eve (5) and Jason (3). Kika is a fine artist in Berlin and Brian works as a director of Service Experience at Blacklane, a transportation startup. The couple lives in Berlin, Germany.
Ram Fletcher '01, J.D. '05 and Rob Bohn '91, J.D. '94 are excited to announce they have moved their law practice, Bohn & Fletcher, LLP, to a beautiful new office located at 333 W. Santa Clara St., Suite 620 in San Jose, California. They will continue their civil litigation practice pursuing justice for people seriously injured or killed as a result of the wrongdoing of others.

Christine N. Epres '01 is an in-house attorney with Robert Half International Inc. in Menlo Park. She handles a variety of commercial transactions, as well as corporate and compliance matters for the company. She and husband Phil Yeager reside in Santa Clara.

Jeremy Armstrong '01 has accepted a tenure track position in the department of physics at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, starting in Fall of 2016.
Erin Taylor '02 works at EnviroIssues, an agency dedicated to developing and executing comprehensive public involvement, strategic communications, and outreach programs by tackling some of the thorniest public policy and environmental issues of our day. Erin has been at EnviroIssues 12 years. Whether managing engagement associated with installing a safe seawall foundation on the Seattle waterfront, converting an entire community from septic to sewer near Hood Canal, or light rail planning across Puget Sound, Erin’s asset is an eye for combining the complexity of big picture policy and delivery with relatable, simultaneous details. Erin lives in the Seattle area with her husband and 18-month old daughter.
