Pon-Barry, Louise

Louise Pon-Barry '01 is in her 14th year teaching and in her eleventh year at Kittredge School, in San FranciscoShe earned her multiple subject teaching credential and MA in Education from the University of San Francisco. Ms. Pon-Barry enjoys working with kindergarten and first-grade children for their fresh and unique outlook on life. Greig, Judith

Judith Maxwell Greig M.A. '81, 60, of Belmont, has been appointed to the California Student Aid Commission by Gov. Gerry Brown '59. Greig has been president at Notre Dame de Namur University since 2009, where she has held several positions since 1988, including provost, dean of the School of Education and Leadership and senior advisor to the president. She was adjunct faculty at San Jose State University from 1987 to 1988 and a teacher at the Old Orchard School from 1977 to 1984. Greig is a member of the Council of Independent Colleges Board of Directors and the California Campus Compact Executive Board.

Barnes, Damian

Damian Gerard Barnes '97 teaches English at Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland. A native of Sacramento, Calif., Damian most recently taught at Our Lady of Mercy School in Daly City, while completing his Master in English (The Writer's Craft Program) from Holy Names University. Previously, Damian was a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and worked as a community organizer in Brooklyn, N.Y., establishing youth programs from Coney Island to Crown Heights. He has also worked as a youth minister and taught at Catholic elementary and middle high schools in the Bay Area. Damian says the rhythms of teaching and learning are deeply entrenched in his soul. “I love working with young people on the discovery of new material, the practicing and expansion of skills and the reflection on life to find personal meaning and direction,” he said. Recently married with quite a few Bronco Alums in attendance, Damian enjoys writing, travel, friends and family.
