William James Crowley ’44, May 19, 1922 to August 21, 2013. A resident of San Jose, Bill passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Denver, CO where he attended Regis Jesuit High School and earned recognition as all-time all Regis honors in both football and baseball. From there Bill earned athletic scholarship to Santa Clara University where he excelled as a scholar athlete in those same 2 sports. While attending SCU he met the love of his life, Mary Rose, and enjoyed 65 years of marriage and raising a family of 9 children. Besides Mary Bill is survived by his children Michael (Cathy), Mary Jo (Jim), Tim (Lise), Dan (Joan), Kevin ( and the late Dawn), Sheila (Pete), Sean ’81 (Lisa), Maureen (Mark), and Colleen ’88, 21 grandkids, and 4 great granchildren. Bill excelled as a businessman starting his own company, Crowley Sales & Export which continues on today. Bill had an uncanny ability of making you feel at ease, treating everyone as an equal, making friends all day long. His sense of humor was unmatched.
