W. “Hall” Evans ’51 was recognized for his lifetime engineering achievements with the Santa Clara University Distinguished Engineer Award in 1999. Hall was ambitious, founding Evans Engineering & Air Balance to commission the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems of large construction projects in Southern California in 1958. Yearly Christmas cards depicted recent adventures with wife Olivia: from zip-lining in Maui, to safaris in Tanzania, to picturesque quartiers of Paris. Hall died on March 21, 2021. He leaves behind a large family, including his wife of 24 years and children Alicia Evans ’83, Bill Evans ’80, and Canice McLaughlin ’78 as well as son-in-law Dennis McLaughlin ’77.
