Vicki Metsers MBA ’85 was born in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, to Marcel and Nancy Van Poucke on Nov. 7, 1957. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. She obtained her master’s at SCU and enjoyed a successful career at Hewlett Packard for nearly 40 years, having been a great colleague and manager to many. Vicki met her husband, Ron Metsers ’75, while living in California and married shortly after on Aug. 23,1986. They raised three children together, Kevin (30), Erik (27) and Kristi (22). While living in California, Vicki never forgot about her hometown in Arkansas, where she would visit with her family each Christmas and summer, always cheering on her Razorbacks and never missing an opportunity to be with family. Vicki was an avid reader and enjoyed watching her primetime competition shows. She loved taking trips to wine country to enjoy some of her favorites and cheering on the Golden State Warriors. She never missed an opportunity to cheer on her kids and loved spending time taking trips with them and her husband. Vicki was the most gracious host, ensuring that her family and friends had a great time at the many gatherings her family hosted. She was a kind-hearted, generous, and beautiful soul. A resident of Mountain View, Vicki passed away on April 5, 2019, at the age of 61 after her battle with lymphoma. She is survived by her husband, Ron, sons Kevin and Erik, daughter Kristi, and daughter-in-law Angelina. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marcel and Nancy Van Poucke. She will be remembered by all as a loving wife, caring mother, sister, and greatest friend, having touched so many lives during her time here.
