Vicenta Marie "Vicki" Lawrence ’75 passed away peacefully at Westland House on June 15, 2010, after a courageous 47-day battle with cancer.  Vicki was born on April 17, 1953 at Fort Ord, CA. She lived her entire life on the Monterey Peninsula. Vicki graduated from Seaside High School in Ô71 with National Honors as an Outstanding Teenager of America. She continued her education at Santa Clara University, earning a BS in ’75 and a Masters in Social Work from San Jose State in ’96.  Her employment as a social worker began with the County of Monterey and continued on to San Andreas Regional Center, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and Westland House (Hospice), where she was a well respected colleague and friend to all. Vicki was always willing to help others and often went over and above her professional duties at Westland House. Some of Vicki’s favorite activities were spending time with her family, listening to music, Sunday dinners at Nana’s, and baking biscotti. She also enjoyed long walks on Marina Beach, listening to Kruk and Kuip of the San Francisco Giants, and sharing great food and wine with friends. Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Apostrofe. She is survived by her husband, Gary Lawrence; son, Nicholas; mother, Anna Apostrofe; sisters, Mary Ann Moreno (Mario), Annette DePasquale (Pete); nieces and nephews, Jon and Adam Bomarito, Stephen Poma, Marisa, Peter, and Alexa DePasquale.
