Troy Payne ’11 has signed with the North-West Tasmania "Tall Timbers" Thunder, a representative basketball team for the north-western region of Tasmania that competes in the South-East Australian Basketball League (SEABL).

 

At Santa Clara, Payne was awarded the Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors and averaged 5.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. After graduating, Payne was drafted in the NBA’s D-League (Los Angeles D-Fenders) and has been working as an intern with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers basketball operations department.

 

He is expected to arrive in Tasmania in February.
