The third of six children, Tom De Coursey ’72 was born to Maggie and Bill De Coursey on July 9, 1950, in Redlands, California. Raised in a deeply rooted Irish Catholic home, his education—both academic and moral—included graduating from Holy Family Elementary, Servite High, and SCU. He completed his MBA at CSU Long Beach, and for over 40 years worked as a managerial accountant in the aerospace industry. Tom’s passion for history, especially the family’s ancestral story, inspired countless trips to Ireland and Germany. On the home front, he loved tending his roses and keeping up with his favorite teams. He was a sensitive, quiet, and generous soul who took delight in sharing a pint with friends and family and offering a heartfelt sláinte! to all. On Oct. 4, 2018, he embarked on his final travel adventure, passing away peacefully at age 68. Tom is preceded in death by both his parents and is survived by his three sisters, Peggy De Coursey ’69, Tookie, and Maureen; brothers Pat and Paul; and nephews Matt and Ryan.
