Timothy Eugene Griswold ’77, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on October 22, 2014. Tim was born July 2, 1955 to Lee and Patricia Griswold, the fourth of six children. Tim and his five siblings, Mike, Rick, Steve, Coralee and Tom grew up on Cold Creek Ranch in Newark Valley, where he learned the value of hard work and dedication. He attended high school in Eureka, NV, where he excelled in track for the Eureka Vandals, graduated Valedictorian and earned a scholarship to Santa Clara University in California. He earned his B. S. degree in Commerce from the school of business and completed the exams for his C.P.A.

Upon graduation in 1977, he joined the firm of Read & Powell and in 1978, married the love of his life, Judith Scheier. They were blessed with two children: Lucinda Elizabeth and Nicholas Scheier Griswold. In January 2003, Tim started his own business, Tim E. Griswold, CPA; which he maintained until his passing. In 2008, Tim was fortunate to become a grandfather of two little boys, Ryan Griswold Cochran and Xavier Ray Griswold. Tim was pre-deceased by his father in January of this year. He is survived by his wife, mother, five siblings, two children, grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Monica Griswold.

Tim loved sports, and coached his children’s various teams as they grew up. When it came time to hang up his coaching hat, Tim joined his wife in the stands for every game, including those requiring long trips out of town. His favorite sport was baseball and the Dodgers were tops as far as he was concerned, sparking an ongoing banter with his beloved daughter-in-law, Monica. While they tormented each over their choice of teams, she was the first to provide Dodger memorabilia, which always brought a smile to his face. Tim was a loving husband, an attentive father, an adoring grandfather, caring family member and very dear friend. At age 59, the loss of him was too soon, and deeply felt by the lives he touched.
