Tom Krassowski MBA ’82 was the second son of Witold and Therese Krassowski and born in Los Angeles, but lived most of his life in the Santa Clara Valley. A graduate of Archbishop Mitty High School and SCU, he spent many of his summers “on the road” in Montana and Minnesota, selling hot dogs at powwows, festivals, and state and county fairs. He received his MBA in finance from Santa Clara before beginning his more than 20-year career at Merrill Lynch. Starting as a financial advisor in their Sunnyvale office, Tom moved to Merrill Lynch in Cupertino and became branch manager, where he was instrumental in helping many staff and advisors start and advance in their careers. Tom was first married to Dianne Lynch, whom he met during his time at Merrill Lynch; he retired from the company in 2007. He married Jiu li Li in Beijing in 2007, and moved there shortly thereafter. Tom began teaching English classes while in Beijing, and then provided specialized language support to technical teams in Chinese business. He was well respected amongst his colleagues in Beijing. Tom retired again in February 2017. He was always warm and gracious to all and told great stories, where he delighted in mixing fact and fiction to get his audience to pay close attention. He honored his parents, loved his wife, and was a beloved brother, cousin, nephew, and uncle, both in America and in China. On Nov. 8, 2018, Tom passed away unexpectedly at his home in Beijing at age 63. He is survived by his wife Jiu li Li (stepson Fei-Fei) of Beijing, his older brother Fred Krassowski ’74 (Beth) of Spokane, Washington, and his younger brother Dan Krassowski ’78 (Marie) of Los Gatos.
