Thomas J. Kane ’73 writes that "the Kane Orthopedic Institute just celebrated its five-year anniversary in Honolulu, Hawaii. In addition to continuing 24 years of private practice in orthopedic surgery, I am assistant clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii, Manoa, and am the medical director of The Queen’s Joint Center, the largest hospital in Hawaii. My eldest son was just accepted into the UH Medical School, and my younger son is a professional surfer. I have lived in Hawaii for 31 years and treasure my education at Santa Clara—a truly ‘classical education’ that is difficult to replicate in the modern era."
