Taylor Holliday ’19 and Rachael Cal ’19 first met during a Santa Clara swim club “kick-back” on a futon in a small pink house just off campus during their junior year. That laidback hang out kicked off the start of a remarkable journey together. After graduation, the pair headed east. Rachael to the University of Virginia School of Medicine and Taylor to Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. Taylor earned his M.E.M. in 2022, and Rachael completed her M.D. in 2025. The couple was engaged in November 2023 while vacationing in Banff, Canada. Taylor and Rachael were married on March 30, 2025, in beautiful Winter Park, Colorado. Following a honeymoon in Greece, they relocated to Oregon, where Rachael has begun her psychiatry residency. The two continue to go on many adventures, get lost on hikes, and cheer extra hard for UVA, Duke, and SCU basketball teams.
