Taylor Alexander ’07 funded his company, Flutter Wireless, with a successful 2013 Kickstarter campaign. Still in production but nearing launch, Flutter is a programmable processor core for electronics projects. Featuring a fast ARM processor, powerful long-range wireless communication, built-in battery charging, and an onboard security chip, Flutter is an ideal choice for robotics, wireless sensor networks, consumer electronics, and educational platforms. He writes, "All of our designs are open source, with licenses that encourage modification, reuse, and sharing. My hope is to bring robotics to impoverished nations by creating designs anyone can build themselves with low-cost materials."
