For two years in a row, Tara S. Kaushik ’98, J.D. ’03 has been included in the Best Lawyers in America guide, Utilities Law. She is a partner in Holland & Knight’s San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s West Coast Land Use and Environment Group. Ms. Kaushik focuses her practice on regulatory matters, with a specific emphasis on energy, natural resources and the environment. She has represented energy companies, local governments, Alaska Native Corporations and tribal entities in project developments, including the negotiations of power purchase agreements and project financing.
Ms. Kaushik has advised and represented her clients on numerous issues before state public utilities commissions throughout the western United States and before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). She also handles carbon credits transactions and cap-and-trade issues before the California Air Resources Board, and regularly advises energy companies and tribal organizations on litigation and arbitration involving energy and commercial disputes.
