Steve Tradewell ’90 was among 11 recipients of the CFO Recognition Award, bestowed by the North Bay Business Journal, for making a significant impact on the health of local companies and the economy.

Steve is the CFO of Napa Valley Vintners. Born and raised in the Bay Area, he has spent most of his life within a few hours of home. After deciding that a career in academia was not him, Steve spent time working in the film industry as the director of finance and operations of the California Film Institute. After seven years there, the Napa Valley Vintners called, and for the past 11 years has enjoyed learning about and growing with the Napa Valley wine industry. He currently lives in Napa, with his wife, Linda, and four dogs.

Steve’s advice for young emerging financial leaders: "Develop a personal “brand” based on integrity, dedication, and follow-through. Also, avoid the temptation to try and be “right” all of the time. There is a lot that can be learned by listening and via thoughtful reflection."
