Armed with a larger-than-life personality, Stephen Witt ’59 became a surrogate father-figure to many colleagues, relatives, and neighbors. After serving in the Army as an officer in the Adjutant General’s Corps, Steve spent a fulfilling career at the Hartford Insurance Group, rising from a ratings clerk to vice president. His work took him across the globe, from Hartford to San Francisco, London, and beyond, where he helped fix struggling insurance companies while collecting priceless stories and memories. Steve enjoyed hiking, opera, gardening, sports, and poker with friends. He died on Jan. 16, 2025.
