For over 30 years, Stephen Dalton ’58 worked at Lindens of Lompoc furniture store before moving to the Bay Area in 1991 to join his eldest son in business at Surface Solutions Innovations, where he remained until his retirement in 2009. Steve had a creative spirit—painting backdrops for his wife Sue’s ballet recitals, coaching Little League and youth football, and tending to more than 50 beehives. He was most happy scuba diving off the coast of Santa Barbara, where he spent years hunting lobster and halibut. Steve died on June 4, 2025.
