Loving husband, father, and grandfather Roy Staring ’71 died on Oct. 23, 2022. Roy attended Chico High, where he met his future wife, Rita Brattan. Roy was hired by Rita’s father, Joe Brattan, to work as a partner in the family farming business. As a farmer, Roy was an exceptionally hard worker and a kind and fair employer. A devoted father, he never missed any of his older daughter Nica’s sporting events. With his younger daughter, Laurie, he began performing in community theater. Once she left for college, he continued performing. His family, including widow Rita Staring ’71, survives him.
