Rose Marie Beebe ’76 and Robert Senkewicz M.Div ’76 have translated Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo’s Recuerdos from Spanish to English 150 years after its publication. Beebe and Senkewicz taught at Santa Clara for a combined 85 years. Together they have written eight books and numerous articles dealing with California during its Spanish and Mexican eras. They both received teaching awards while on the SCU faculty and have received numerous scholarly awards from institutions such as the Bancroft Library and the Book Club of California.
