Roger Peters ’63 was born in Honolulu in 1941 and graduated from SCU, where he played football, was involved in student politics, and served as a member of the Reserve Officers Training Corps. After graduating from UC Berkeley law school in 1966 and passing the state of California’s bar exam, Roger became a JAG in the Army, where he served for four years. He and his family moved to Concord in 1971 when he joined Halley, Cornell & Lynch in San Francisco as an attorney. After 46 years of practicing law, he retired. Roger passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 8, 2018, in Concord at 77 years old. He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Cathy), their children, Brian Peters and Carolyn (Peters) Szymanski ’89, daughter-in-law Kristen Thall Peters J.D. ’92, grandchildren Kevin, Sean, and Ava, and his brothers, Ronald, Robert (Bob), and Riley and their spouses.
