On July 23, 2020, with family, friends and colleagues, Robert L. Hoover J.D. ’59 celebrated his 89th birthday and 60 years of family law practice in Santa Clara County as the founding partner of Hoover Krepelka, LLP. Bob educated and advocated for thousands of divorcing spouses over the span of six decades, starting at a time when divorce attorneys were scarce. He appeared before over one hundred judges, was instrumental in establishing the Judge Pro Tem system—which is now a fundamental part of the Santa Clara County court system today—and helped establish family law as an independent, regulated, and respected discipline.
