1964

Santa Barbara’s 2010 Man of the Year Robert Emmons MBA ’64 was admired not only for his accomplishments but for his kindness and integrity. His career began in ice cream—with Baskin-Robbins, to be exact. His leadership skills led him to CEO roles at Master Host International, United Rentals, LTI Corporation, and Smart & Final before he turned to consulting and teaching. At USC’s Marshall School of Business, Robert inspired students as a professor and co-director of the Food Industry Management Program. A gifted writer and creative spirit, Bob went on to publish eight books, as well as several volumes of poetry. He died on July 23, 2025.
