Robert Besozzi ’56 was born in San Francisco on Nov. 22, 1933, to parents Ambrose and Rosina Besozzi, who had immigrated to the United States from Italy. He grew up in the Russian Hill neighborhood and attended St. Brigid Grammar School, St. Ignatius College Preparatory (’51), and SCU After graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Army while being stationed in Korea. Upon completion of his military service, he pursued what became a lifelong career in banking. In 2002, he retired from Wells Fargo Bank as vice president and branch manager of the Crocker Office in San Francisco’s Financial District. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather (Papa), Bob passed away on July 8, 2015, after a valiant fight against Leukemia. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Anne, his son Steven (Angi), and two little granddaughters, Stella and Ava—all of whom loved him so very much. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Barbara O’Connor (Patrick) as well as cousins, both here and in Italy. Bob was a very special man. He will be forever missed and always remembered by all who knew and loved him.
