Many became aware and interested in the world of cattle because of the weekly column in California’s Central Coast’s Telegram Tribune written by Richard “Dick” L. Nock ’53. Dick, a cattle rancher and beef industry advocate, was incredibly passionate about the cattle industry. In 1957, he created the T-Diamond Cattle brand, and in 1979, he was honored to be chosen as Cattleman of the Year. Even in death, he remains the consummate cattleman (a fighting Irishman). Dick died December 28, 2020, and is survived by an expansive family, including daughters Marque’ Nock Molodanof ’82 and Bretta Nock ’86.
