Richard Lee Rizzo ’65 was born on Aug. 20 1942. He was educated in the Jesuit tradition at Bellarmine College Prep, where he played varsity football, and at SCU, where he forged a path of humility with a goal of service to others— especially the poor, the homeless, and seniors in nursing homes. Rich retired from San Mateo County, where he remained active in the Kiwanas and Toastmasters of Willow Glen. His passion for “all things sports” led to supporting SJSU Alumni Football Quarterback Club and sponsoring USC Youth Baseball Camps. He loved trains, travel, and his Church. We will miss his humble spirit, compassion for those who suffer, kindness, and generosity—and most of all, his unbridled enthusiasm.
