Richard “Rick” Alan Baker ’69 achieved the rank of captain in the U.S. Army, 1st Battalion, 83rd Artillery when he served in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. He was honorably discharged after six years of service. Then he began a long career as an insurance claims examiner, becoming a senior claim law associate and automobile claim law associate. Rick was an avid coin and stamp collector. He also enjoyed railroads, dogs, reading and history. A traveller, his favorite destinations were New Orleans and Santa Barbara. He was also known for his dry wit and generosity. He died on April 25, 2022.
