Randolph “Randy” Leong J.D. ’75 was born on Aug. 31, 1945, in Honolulu. He was the only son of Edward and Sally Leong. He attended St. Patrick’s School and graduated from St. Louis High School in 1963. He attended the University of Hawaii as well as the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School for his undergraduate work and SCU for law school, where he graduated magna cum laude. He practiced law for 42 years and was also a real estate broker who helped so many people. His biggest accomplishment was raising three wonderful sons. He spent his life mentoring them, being involved in all their activities, and just being present. He sacrificed many of his personal and professional goals to be with his family and friends. Honest to a fault, he helped many people without asking much in return and many remember him for his integrity and Aloha Spirit. Randy died on Jan. 15, 2018, at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. He was 72 years old. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Sonia (Asayama) Leong; his mother, Sally (Chun) Leong; sons Geoff, Erik (Kyoko), and Andrew (Wayna); sisters, Helene Wong (Ken), Maxine Bosher (Tim), Joan Ukishima, and Marianne Soldner; cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and in-laws; as well as people he has met and helped over the years.
