Preston J. Blither Jr. ’50 died Dec. 12. 2009. Raised in Redwood City, he enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve and served in World War II before being honorably discharged in 1946 as a petty officer second class. He had a 33-year banking career with Bank of America and later was vice president of the Bank of Idaho. He later graduated from the Pacific Coast School of Banking at the University of Washington and eventually retired as executive vice president of the First Interstate Bank of Idaho. He was a member of St. John’s Cathedral Parish as well as the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by six children and eight grandchildren.
