Phillip Bettencourt ’51, M.A. ’74 taught at Sunnyvale High School and Monte Vista High School for 32 years. He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean conflict. Phil was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Auburn Lodge #1691 for 58 years. He held the offices of Exalted Ruler (2), Past Association Vice President, District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, and State Membership Chairman. He died on October 21, 2020, at the age of 91. Phil is survived by his wife, Sharon, seven step children, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
