Phil Scholz ’01, one of Nvidia’s senior marketing managers, was struck and killed Jan. 20 in a commuter train accident at a Caltrain station in Santa Clara, Calif., while helping to save the life of another victim. He was 36 years old.
Scholz began working for Nvidia in 2001 as part of the PC hardware maker’s university recruitment team. He then moved into a marketing manager position in 2002, and occupied several marketing positions, up through his most recent position – Senior North America Marketing Manager for Online Retail — which he started in January 2012.
