1970

After playing accordion and serving in the ROTC in high school, Peter Michelozzi M.A. ’70 entered Holy Redeemer College as a seminarian and dedicated 16 years to the priesthood, inspired by the progressive movement toward social justice coming out of Vatican II. Peter left the priesthood in 1967 to fulfill a wider ministry, attaining a master’s degree in counseling from SCU. He then spent a couple of decades counseling young people, particularly those in the juvenile justice system and high school students. Grad school sweethearts, Peter and Betty Neville-Michelozzi M.A. ’68 dedicated most of their 53 years together to volunteer efforts for humanitarian issues. Peter died Aug. 28, 2023.
