Peter Coe Verbica ’82, J.D. ’99 has officially launched his 2026 campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 19th Congressional District, which includes Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Luis Obispo counties. His platform focuses on several key issues: Reforming the current tax treatment of Social Security income; advocating for meaningful immigration reform, including a clear and efficient path to citizenship; addressing homelessness through more effective, targeted policies; and supporting housing solutions that reduce costs without disrupting local neighborhoods. Verbica is a certified financial planner and currently serves as principal and managing director at Silicon Private Wealth, a registered investment advisor and fiduciary. He also gives back to the community through his roles on the Santa Cruz Sounding Board for Free Guitars for Kids and as chair of the Investment Committee for the San Jose Symphony Foundation.
