Paul Nicholas Ilacqua ’74 passed from this life too soon on Feb. 16, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.

Born and raised in San Francisco, he graduated from St. Anne’s Grammar School and St. Ignatius College Preparatory. Paul earned a bachelor’s degree at SCU and his master’s degree in mathematics from Stanford University. Truly a math scholar, Paul helped many young people excel in mathematics.

He was a loving husband of Janet (Noordhoff) Ilacqua ’75 and a devoted father of Nicholas Ilacqua (Kristina Scott). He was a beloved brother of Patricia (Jack) Bonanno and a caring uncle of Janine Bonanno, Annette (Robert) Olinger, Jacqueline (Derrick) Pallas, Catherine Bonanno, and Genevieve Mesch. He was a respected brother-in-law of Jack Bonanno, Paulette Noordhoff, and Mary Mesch.
