Paul Caro ’62 died on December 26, 2020, from COPD with complications brought on by Covid-19. Born in San Jose and raised on Hanchett Avenue, Paul received his elementary education at St. Leo’s, followed by high school at Bellarmine College Preparatory and college at Santa Clara University. He was commissioned as an Army Second Lieutenant and spent his two years of military service at the height of the Cold War as a transportation officer in Verdun, France. Returning to civilian life fluent in French, Paul went to work in the international division of the Bank of America in San Francisco. Employment opportunities in the growing semiconductor industry, and later in retail, found him back in the Santa Clara Valley. A life-long bachelor, Paul spent his retirement years at Casa del Pueblo in downtown San Jose., Paul was pre-deceased by his parents, and his brother, Bill Caro ’54. He is survived by another brother, Rev. Robert Caro, S.J. ’58, and numerous cousins and their families.
